There are plenty of articles about survival bunkers–why you need them, where to put them, how to build them, and so forth. However, there aren’t many articles about the type of furniture you should put in your bunker. You might not think this is very important, but if you plan on surviving in your bunker for a long time, it’s extremely important.
Most emergency bunkers aren’t very big, which means you need to be as efficient with your space as possible. That means instead of having a big, comfy, king-size bed, you should have a futon or a sleeper sofa. Or better yet, one of those Murphy beds that fold up into the wall so you have more space to move around in the daytime. If you do put a traditional bed in your bunker, at least make sure it’s one with lots of drawers underneath so you have more space for your supplies.

In this article on The Prepper Journal, the author makes several furniture recommendations. Anyone who has or plans on getting a bunker should read this.
