Summer is right around the corner and you know what that means – MOSQUITOS. Here is a simple way to rid yourself of the problem with mosquito traps that really work.
You Will Need:
- Soda Bottle
- Bag of Brown Sugar
- Jar of Yeast
- Measuring Cup
Let's Start Making the Trap
1. Cut Bottle in Half
Cut the plastic bottle in half.
Your bottle should look like this:
2. Brown Sugar in Water
Mix 1/4 cup of brown sugar with hot water.
3. Pour Sugar in Bottle
Pour the sugar into the bottom half of the cut plastic bottle.
4. Pour Hot Water in Bottle
Pour 400 ml (approx 1 3/4 cup) of very hot water. Let cool.
5. Add Yeast
Add the yeast. No need to mix. It creates carbon dioxide, which attracts mosquitoes.
6. Add a Pinch of Yeast to Mixture
You will only need a pinch or two. Pinch the yeast between your fingers and add to the mixture.
You do not need to stir it. Let it sit for a while.
7. Place Bottle Top Upside Down
Once you're done, place the bottle top upside down facing the mixture. The liquid will attract the mosquitoes and will fly into the opening.
The mosquitoes will be trapped inside the bottle and most likely won't be able to escape.
