Sometimes I don’t know how I ever lived without a smartphone. I’m not one of those people who stare at social media all day, but I do use my phone for a lot of things.

I use my smartphone for taking notes, setting alarms, reading books, listening to music, casting TV shows, tracking my workouts, counting my calories, and playing the occasional game.

The main feature, of course, is making phone calls. If my wife is late getting home from work and not answering her phone, I start to imagine all the worst scenarios.

So what if a major disaster strikes while she’s at work? She has a long commute, and all sorts of horrible things could befall her on the way home.

So what are our options? Fortunately, there are several ways to use a smartphone when there’s no signal, and that is the topic of this article by Ben Brown from The Prepping Guide.

He talks about four gadgets that connect to your smartphone and can be used for calling, texting, maps, GPS, and more. Follow the link below to check it out.
